Softball Heads to Wilson Thursday for First Round of Playoffs

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (15-11, 9-3 NEAC) will travel to Wilson College on Thursday in the first round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs.

The Eagles earned the third seed in the south division after finishing with a 6-2 divisional record.  Wilson earned the two seed after finishing 8-2 in the division.

Penn State Berks will host Penn State Abington in the other south divisional matchup.  Berks is the predetermined overall number one seed who will host the tournament on Friday and Saturday.

CSE and Wilson most recently played on Saturday, with Wilson taking both contests, 9-0 and 4-1.  Prior to those games, the Eagles won six straight divisional games and seven of eight overall in the conference.

The winner of Thursday's game will advance to the double elimination tournament on Friday and Saturday.  The final four teams that advance to the tournament will be reseeded, with two teams from the north and two from the south making it.

This marks the first time the Eagles have qualified for playoffs since joining the NEAC.  The game will take place on Wilson's campus in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania with first pitched scheduled for 3 pm.
