Garcia Homers Twice in Game One as Eagles Dominate Shutout in Game Two

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The St. Elizabeth University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader against John Jay College on Thursday, using a dominant performance in the nightcap to bounce back after a tough opener.

In game one, Josilynn Garcia turned in one of the top offensive performances of the season, accounting for all five Eagle runs with two home runs and five RBI. Isabell Edwards scored twice, while Grace Bobbie added two hits as the Eagles battled throughout the contest.

Saint Elizabeth responded in emphatic fashion in game two, putting together an 11-hit attack and a combined shutout in the circle.

Isabella Hanos went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Garcia and Kara Reyes each drove in three runs. Edwards crossed the plate three times as the Eagles controlled the game from the outset.

In the circle, Jocelyn Koo earned the win with four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four. Jazmin Frias came on in relief to finish off the shutout effort.
