Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (16-10, 13-7 NEAC) will travel to Utica, New York to take on SUNY Poly in the semi-finals of the NEAC Playoffs on Saturday at 2 pm.
The Eagles advanced to the semi-finals for the first time in school history by upsetting the NEAC South second-seed, Bryn Athyn College on Tuesday, 95-89 in overtime.
Jasmine Poole led the way with 31 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists.
Deja Ingram and
Danesha Triplett posted double-doubles, while
Rakiyah Sellers hit the two biggest shots in regulation.
The Wildcats from SUNY Poly were awarded the number one overall seed in the NEAC Playoffs. The Wildcats received a bye in the first round and will host both semi-final games as well as the finals on Sunday. SUNY Poly finished the regular season with a 23-2 record and 17-1 in the NEAC. Senior Stevie Ray was named NEAC Player of the Year after averaging 25.1 points per game, the second most in Division III.
The two teams squared off earlier in the season on January 29 in Utica with the Wildcats taking the game, 79-64. Ingram, Poole, and Sellers scored 13 points a piece for the Eagles while Khristaijah Jackson scored 27 for the Wildcats.
The winner of Saturday's game will play the winner of Lancaster Bible and Morrisville on Sunday at 2 pm.
