Eagles to Play Bryn Athyn in NEAC Playoffs on Tuesday

Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (15-10, 13-7 NEAC) will travel to Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening to take on Bryn Athyn College in the first round of the NEAC playoffs.

In just her first season at the helm, Nikki Henry guided the Eagles to a third place finish in the NEAC South division with 13 conference wins. This marks the first time the Eagles have made the playoffs since the 2013-14 season when it lost to Gallaudet University in the first round, 69-61.

Coach Henry is excited for her first playoff experience. "I am ecstatic for the ladies, especially because they dealt with challenging outcomes early in the season and bounced back by making this season a memorable one for themselves. I am looking forward to our appearance. As a team, we're very appreciative and honored for the opportunities that we have to participate in the NEAC conference playoffs."

Bryn Athyn finished the season with a 20-5 record and 16 wins in the NEAC. The Lions finished one game behind Lancaster Bible, the NEAC South champion. During the regular season, the Eagles and Lions split its head to head matchups.

On December 4, the Eagles fell at Bryn Athyn, 67-51. Jasmine Poole finished with a game high 19 points and 16 rebounds. In a redemption game on January 17, the Eagles held on at home for a 74-69 victory over the Lions. Deja Ingram had a monster game, finishing with 22 points and 21 rebounds in the win.

Henry knows Bryn Athyn will be a challenge, but believes her team is ready. "They are a good team who plays well together, we've played each other before. Both teams competed very well with a win against each other. Tomorrow's game will come down to who wants it more."

The winner of Tuesday's game will travel to SUNY Poly to take on the Wildcats on Saturday at 2 pm.
