MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's volleyball team will be traveling to Penn State Berks for the first round of the NEAC Tournament on Tuesday evening.
The Eagles will be making its first ever trip to the NEAC tournament as the fourth seed in the south division. Berks is the top overall seed after finishing with an 8-1 conference record and going undefeated in the south division.
CSE finished the regular season with a 10-16 record while going 4-5 in conference play. The fourth seed was determined by multiple tiebreakers after the Eagles, Wilson, and Penn State Abington all finished with a 2-4 record in NEAC South play. CSE won the fourth tiebreaker after having the highest game percentage (games won/games played) among tied teams.
The Eagles and Berks played their only match of the season on Saturday, with the Nittany Lions winning in three sets (13-25, 10-25, 18-25). Despite dropping two contests on Saturday, the Eagles have won four of their last six matches, and look to ride the momentum into Tuesday's match.
The semi-finals and finals will take place on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Following all playoff matches on Tuesday, the four winners will be reseeded, with the top seed hosting the final four.
Tuesday's match will take place at 7 pm on Penn State Berks campus in Reading, Pennsylvania.
