MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Saint Elizabeth University Athletics has announced the hiring of Bron Schuler as the new head coach of the Eagles women's volleyball program.
A Pittsburgh native who now calls New Jersey home, Schuler brings a diverse coaching and athlete development background to SEU, with experience working with athletes ranging from the middle school level to the professional ranks. Throughout his career, Schuler has maintained a central focus on developing athletes and helping them reach levels they may not have thought possible.
"We are thrilled to welcome Bron Schuler to the Saint Elizabeth University family as our new head women's volleyball coach," Director of Athletics James Adams said. "Throughout a very competitive search process, Bron impressed our committee with his exceptional professionalism, clear vision for program building, and his commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. We are confident that his leadership will help guide our volleyball program into an exciting new chapter."
Schuler's background includes collegiate and professional athlete development, working with athletes connected to the New Jersey Nets, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Major League Baseball players, and high-performance volleyball programs and clubs. Athletes he has worked with have gone on to earn All-Conference honors, represent national teams, and compete professionally.
In collegiate volleyball, Schuler has served in multiple roles, including coach, recruiting coordinator, and program builder. He spearheaded a national recruiting strategy that resulted in a threefold increase in out-of-state commitments while helping guide the program to consecutive conference playoff appearances, including a second-place conference finish.
Schuler also played an integral role in a significant program turnaround at the NCAA Division II level. Following a full offseason centered around recruiting and player development, the program improved from a 3-15 conference record to 11-5. In addition to his recruiting responsibilities, Schuler contributed to game planning and team development while overseeing the program's social media presence.
At Saint Elizabeth, Schuler's vision extends beyond building a competitive team on the court. His goal is to establish SEU as a destination for talented student-athletes while creating a program centered around development, competition, and strong relationships among teammates.
"When an athlete chooses SEU, I want her to know she is choosing a place where she will be challenged, supported, and believed in," Schuler said. "We're going to build a culture where our athletes push each other, compete together, and genuinely enjoy being part of this family. My goal is to build a culture that lasts even after graduation."
Schuler's educational background is in kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), complementing his extensive experience in athlete development and performance.
Away from the court, Schuler has also spent time in front of the camera, appearing on television and in movies.
Schuler and the Eagles will open their season with a tri-match against the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Suffolk University, marking his first matches at the helm of the Saint Elizabeth women's volleyball program.
Schuler takes over the Eagles with an emphasis on recruiting, player development, and establishing a sustainable culture for long-term success. His combination of coaching experience, athlete development expertise, and program-building background will lead Saint Elizabeth into its next chapter.
