Morristown, N.J. (Nov. 1, 2025) — Saint Elizabeth University battled hard but came up short in a four-set match against Atlantic East rival Gwynedd Mercy, dropping the contest 3–1 (21–25, 24–26, 25–12, 15–25) inside St. Joseph's Hall.
After a tightly contested opening set, the Eagles fought back in the second, pushing the Griffins to extra points before narrowly falling 26–24. SEU found their rhythm in the third frame, dominating 25–12 behind a .429 hitting percentage — their most efficient set of the afternoon — before Gwynedd Mercy regrouped to take the fourth and close out the match.
Dadlyna Louis led the Eagles' attack with 10 kills, hitting an impressive .346 and adding three block assists. Sienna Volpe followed closely with eight kills, three service aces, and nine digs, while Marissa Heimbaugh contributed nine kills, 13 digs, and an ace. Setter Victoria Compton dished out 14 assists, and Ericka Menaling Trajano added 12 assists, three aces, and a strong all-around performance. On defense, Alyssa Wells anchored the back row with a team-high 17 digs.
As a team, Saint Elizabeth tallied 38 kills, 10 aces, and 58 digs, hitting .116 on the afternoon. Despite strong momentum in the third set, inconsistency at the service line (10 errors) and attack errors in the fourth limited the Eagles' comeback bid.
