St. Elizabeth Men’s Volleyball Falls at Immaculata

Saint Elizabeth University men's volleyball dropped a road contest to Immaculata University on Monday evening, falling in straight sets, 3-0, at Alumnae Hall.

The Eagles were edged 25-23 in the opening set before the hosts pulled away in the final two frames, 25-18 and 25-8.

Saint Elizabeth battled throughout a competitive first set, keeping pace with Immaculata in a back-and-forth battle that featured 10 tie scores and four lead changes. The Eagles nearly forced extra points after trimming the deficit to 24-23, but Immaculata was able to close out the set and take the early match advantage.

Carlos Saldana led the Eagles offensively with a team-high eight kills while posting an impressive .538 hitting percentage. Randel Romero directed the attack with 15 assists and also added four points, while Kennedy Ibezim and Enock Joachim each contributed four points. Defensively, Kyzier Kelly paced Saint Elizabeth with a team-best seven digs and anchored the back row with 20 receptions.

After the narrow opening-set loss, the Eagles were unable to regain momentum as Immaculata controlled the second and third sets. Saint Elizabeth finished the match with 20 kills and 23 digs, while also recording four total team blocks. Immaculata hit .310 as a team and totaled 33 kills in the win.
