Myrtle Beach, S.C. – March 4, 2026 — The St. Elizabeth University baseball team rallied with a five-run inning but ultimately fell to New England College, 9–5, on Wednesday afternoon at Griffith Field in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
After falling behind early, the Eagles delivered their biggest offensive surge in the top of the fifth inning, scoring all five of their runs in the frame to briefly take control of the game.
Trevor Policastro led the St. Elizabeth offense with a strong performance at the plate, going 3-for-5 with an RBI. Cristian Mejia delivered the biggest extra-base hit of the afternoon, tripling and driving in two runs, while Chris Valencia and Nick Villalba each contributed an RBI in the inning.
Curtis Battle and Harrison Curran each crossed the plate for the Eagles as part of the five-run rally, helping St. Elizabeth collect nine hits on the day.
On the mound, Quentin Torres started for St. Elizabeth and struck out six batters over 4.1 innings. William Figundio added three strikeouts in relief, while G. Laliberte Jr. tossed a scoreless eighth inning with a strikeout to close out the pitching effort.
New England College regained momentum late, breaking the game open with a six-run seventh inning to secure the victory.
Despite the loss, St. Elizabeth showed offensive life in the middle innings and strong individual performances at the plate.
