Saint Elizabeth Women’s Basketball Earns First Atlantic East Conference Victory at Marywood, 58–53

SCRANTON, PA. — The Saint Elizabeth University women's basketball team picked up a key road victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Marywood University 58–53 at the Insalaco Arena.

The Eagles controlled the tempo early, battling to an 11–11 tie after the first quarter before taking a 23–20 advantage into halftime. Saint Elizabeth extended its lead in the third quarter behind strong transition play and defensive pressure, outscoring Marywood 17–14 to build a six-point cushion entering the final period. The Eagles held off a late Marywood push in the fourth quarter, where the Pacers scored 19 points, but Saint Elizabeth matched the energy with 18 of its own to secure the five-point win.

Ahjionae Cobb led Saint Elizabeth with a game-high 20 points, adding six rebounds and five steals while shooting efficiently from the field and the foul line. Elyssa Russo provided a spark off the bench with 10 points, including key baskets in the second half. Yasminah White chipped in 11 points and helped direct the offense, while My'shiah McQueen contributed four rebounds and interior defense.

Saint Elizabeth's defense created 21 Marywood turnovers and converted them into 18 fast-break points, a major difference in the contest. The Eagles also held Marywood to 31.8% shooting from the field and just 14.8% from three-point range.
