SCRANTON, Pa. — Saint Elizabeth University men's basketball battled early but could not hold off a second-half surge as the Eagles fell to Marywood University, 88–72, Saturday afternoon at the Insalaco Arena.
Saint Elizabeth came out strong, building an early eight-point advantage and carrying a 35–30 lead into halftime. The Eagles shot efficiently in the opening half, converting 46.4% from the field, and controlled the tempo with solid interior scoring and transition buckets. Tye-Rell Monroe and Rodney Tullis Jr. spearheaded the first-half attack as Saint Elizabeth led for nearly 18 minutes of the opening period.
Monroe led Saint Elizabeth with a standout performance, finishing with 27 points on 7-of-20 shooting and 13-of-14 from the free-throw line. Josiah King added 13 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Rodney Tullis Jr. contributed 13 points and two blocks. Cam'Ron Martel provided a spark off the bench with nine points in limited minutes. Saint Elizabeth finished the game shooting 42.9% from the floor.
