Women's Volleyball Earns First Atlantic East win in School History

Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth University Women's Volleyball team earned the first Atlantic East win in school history, as they took down Neumann at home.

Match Breakdown
  • Neumann would take the first set off the strength of a 8-2 run late, giving the Knights a 1-0 set lead.
  • The Eagles however would not allow losing the first set get to them, as they would go on to sweep the remaining three sets.
    • Set two the Eagles would go on to win in comeback fashion, as thanks to a 7-1 run to pull the Eagles back being down 17-12 before the run, to make the score 19-18. The Eagles would complete the comeback as they would go on a 4-0 run to complete the sweep.
    • Set three would be much more back and fourth between the two squads with neither team being able to pull ahead by more then three. However, thanks to a second 4-0 run to close out set, the Eagles would once again take a set from Neumann, this time by a score of 25-21.
    • Set four would play similar to role as set three, as back and fourth action would keep the teams within two of each other. However, with both teams being tied at 23, late in the set, the Eagles would use a quick 3-0 run to take the final set 25-23.
  • The Eagles would take the match 3-1, earning them not only their first win in conference play, but the first win for the Eagles as a whole, as members of the Atlantic East Conference.
Top Performers
  • Dadlyna Louis would lead the team in points and kills, earning a double-double, her third of the week, as she would tally 17.5 points on the night, thanks to the strength of 16 kills, to go along with both a solo block and a block assists.
  • Marissa Jean Baptiste would also earn a double-double, as she would pick up 11.5 points off of 10 kills, and would also have both a solo block and a block assist.
  • Sienna Volpe would round out the double digit scorers and double-double collectors for the Eagles. Volpe would tally 10 points on the night for the Eagles, as she would tally nine kills and one service ace for the Eagles. Defensively, Volpe was able to pick up 13 digs for the Eagles.
Up Next for Saint Elizabeth

The Eagles will return to action on Thursday, October 2nd, as they will continue conference play and welcome Marymount University to Saint Joseph's Arena for a White Out game, and a 6:30PM start time.
