Eagles Split First Tri-Match at Home In 9 Years

Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth University Women's Volleyball team hosted their first home tri-match for the first time since 2016. The tri-match featured Saint Elizabeth, King's College, and CCNY.

Match #1: SEU 3, CCNY 0

Match Results
  • The Eagles would take a commanding 25-10 set one victory, which concluded with the Eagles going on a 9-0 run to finish the set.
  • Set two would see another Eagles' victory as they would win by a final of 25-19.
  • The Eagles would complete th 3-0 sweep by taking the third set by a final of 25-15.
Top Performers
  • Marissa Heimbaugh would have a match to remember, falling both a kill and a service ace short of a triple-double. As Heimbaugh would finish with 18 points on the match, nine kills, and nine service aces. Heimbaugh would also tally four digs on the defensive side.
  • Dadlyna Louis would have a day as well, as she would finish with 15 points, off of nine kills as well, three service aces, and three solo blocks.
  • Sienna Volpe would wrap up double digit scorers for the Eagles, as she would finish with ten points, five kills, and five service aces.
Match #2: SEU 1, Kings, 3

Match Results
  • The Eagles would jump out early on Kings, taking a 25-19 victory over the Monarchs.
  • The Monarchs were able to hold off the Eagles comeback attempts four seperate times, as the Eagles would within two to three points, winning the set 25-21.
  • King's would go on to dominate set three 25-10, before pulling away midway into the fourth set and taking it 25-16.
Top Performers
  • Sienna Volpe would lead the team in points, tallying a triple double for the team, as she would pick up 16 points, off of 14 kills, two service aces, and would have ten digs on the defensive side.
  • Dadlyna Louis would earn a double-double for the Eagles as she would pick up 12.5 points on the day to go along with 11 kills, a solo block, and a block assist.
  • Marissa Heimbaugh would round out the double-digit scorers as she would pick up a double-double, picking up 18 digs on the defensive side, 11 points on the offense with nine kills, and two service aces.
  • Amiyah Freeman & Victoria Compton would both have four service aces (two each) combined, and would combine for 34 combined assists, with Compton picking up 21, and Freeman tallying 13.

The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, September 16th, as they travel to Purchase, NY, for a match up vs. Purchase College, with first serve set for 7:00pm.
