Myrtle Beach, SC- The Saint Elizabeth University Softball team was able to start off their young season 1-0, with a win over SUNY Delhi, pushing a final score of 6-3.

Game Breakdown

• Both teams would be held scoreless until the 4th inning, where the Broncos would take a 3-1 lead over the Eagles heading into the later innings.
• The Eagles would then score five unanswered runs across the last three innings of play against the Broncos.
• The Eagles would be able to out hit the Broncos nine to six, including multi-hit days from Josilynn Garcia & Kami DeGaetani.

Top Performers

• Kami DeGaetani was able to get it done for the Eagles both at the plate and in the circle. DeGaetani in the circle would throw a complete game, striking out three Broncos along the way, while allowing one earned run. DeGaetani would also pick up a multi-hit day for the Eagles, going 2-4, and driving in Jadyn Baker in the 5th inning to tie the game, with an RBI single.
• Josilynn Garcia would pick up a multi hit day vs. the Broncos, going 2-4 picking up an RBI on the afternoon, as well as scoring one of the teams runs.
• Jadyn Barker would pick up a hit in the win for the Eagles, but would be a force on the base paths, scoring two runs, collecting a stolen base, and scoring the games tying run late off a DeGaetani single.
