MORRISTOWN, N.J. — The Saint Elizabeth University women's basketball team earned a solid 56–49 victory over Eastern University on Saturday afternoon at St. Joseph's Hall, improving its record to 6–4 on the season.
SEU set the tone early, taking a 15–11 lead after the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the contest. The Eagles never trailed after the opening minutes and led for over 34 minutes of game time, relying on strong interior scoring, defensive pressure, and timely baskets down the stretch.
Yasminah White led all scorers with 25 points, shooting 11-of-22 from the floor while playing all 40 minutes. White consistently attacked the lane and finished at the rim, anchoring the Eagles' offense in all four quarters. Ahjionae Cobb added 12 points and nine rebounds, providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor, while My'shiah McQueen chipped in four points and three rebounds in limited minutes.
Saint Elizabeth held a slim 25–21 advantage at halftime before extending its lead during the third quarter behind balanced scoring and defensive stops. The Eagles outscored Eastern 16–15 in the final period, sealing the win with key baskets and free throws in the closing moments.
Defensively, SEU forced 17 turnovers and converted them into 17 points, while also winning the battle in the paint, 32–26. The Eagles also held Eastern to just 26.6 percent shooting from the field, including 0-for-16 from three-point range.
