November 11, 2025 – Madison, N.J.
In a nail-biter at the Ferguson Recreation Center, the Saint Elizabeth University men's basketball team came up just short on Tuesday night, falling 62–61 to FDU-Florham in non-conference action.
The Eagles (1–1) led by one at halftime, 32–31, and battled evenly throughout the second half before the Devils edged ahead in the closing moments.
Tye-Rell Monroe led SEU with a game-high 19 points, going 6-of-16 from the floor and 6-of-10 at the free throw line, while also adding four rebounds and a steal. Josiah King provided an efficient 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting, contributing four steals on the defensive end. Lawrence Reid added nine points and four rebounds, and Cam'Ron Martel pulled down a team-high 10 boards.
Saint Elizabeth forced 21 FDU turnovers, converting them into 22 points, and held a 14–14 edge in fast-break points. However, the Devils' advantage on the glass (48–32) and at the free-throw line (21-of-34 compared to SEU's 12-of-23) proved decisive.
The Eagles will return to action this weekend as they will head to Rutgers-Newark, to compete in the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic, as they will face the host, Rutgers-Newark, Friday, with tip-off set for 7:00PM.
