NEWARK, N.J. (Nov. 14, 2025) – Despite a strong scoring night from senior guard Tye-Rell Monroe, the Saint Elizabeth University men's basketball team couldn't keep pace with Rutgers-Newark on Thursday night, falling 95–74 inside The Golden Dome.
Monroe poured in a game-high 25 points on 9-of-19 shooting while adding four rebounds and a steal, providing a steady offensive spark throughout the evening. Fellow guard Josiah King added 21 points, knocking down 8 of 16 attempts and finishing with four boards.
For Saint Elizabeth, 35 bench points highlighted the team's depth, with Johnathan Quiles II contributing six points, four steals, and two assists in 17 energetic minutes. Freshman forward Cam'Ron Martel added five points and three rebounds.
The Eagles shot 30-of-78 (38%) from the field and generated 18 fast-break points, but Rutgers-Newark's physicality and efficiency proved too much in the final stretch.
