Arlington, Va. (October 15, 2025) – The Saint Elizabeth University men's soccer team put forth a determined effort on the road Wednesday evening but came up short against Marymount (VA), falling 3–1 in conference play at Long Bridge Park.
Marymount jumped out to an early lead in the 9th minute when Brian Alegria scored off an assist from Mynor Gonzalez. The Saints extended their advantage midway through the first half, as Jefferson Lopez Coreas converted in the 25th minute from a pass by Ricardo Urrutia.
The Eagles responded quickly, with senior defender Almir Mata finding the back of the net in the 28th minute — his first goal of the season — to make it a 2–1 contest heading into halftime.
In goal, Jonathan Ramirez Delgado anchored the first half with 10 saves, while Andrew Gonzalez added 6 stops in relief to keep Saint Elizabeth within reach. The Eagles combined for 16 saves on the night, facing 29 total shots from Marymount.
Offensively, Marvin Miranda paced Saint Elizabeth with four shot attempts, while Mata and Gowens Louis each registered a shot on target. The Eagles tallied eight total shots and four corner kicks, displaying consistent attacking pressure.
