Saint Elizabeth University Men’s Soccer Battles to 0–0 Draw with Centenary

Hackettstown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth University (SEU) men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 0–0 draw on the road Saturday afternoon against Centenary University (NJ) in United East Conference play at J.E. Reeves Jr. Field.

The Eagles (3-5-4, 2-2-1 United East) dominated much of the match offensively, outshooting the Cyclones 12–2 and posting six shots on goal. Despite multiple opportunities in both halves, SEU was unable to find the back of the net but showed resilience and defensive strength throughout.

Goalkeeper Andrew Gonzalez anchored the SEU defense, recording one save and earning the clean sheet—his second shutout of the season. The backline, led by Carlos Saldana, Almir Mata, and Yonatan Figueroa, held Centenary to just a single shot on goal.

On the attacking end, Derick Campoverde led the Eagles with three shots, including one on target, while Gowens Louis added two shots on goal in the opening half. Marvin Miranda tallied three attempts as SEU consistently pressured Centenary's defense.

Centenary's goalkeepers, Kevin Velasquez Mejia and Christian Ruiz, combined for six saves to keep the home side level despite being outshot 9–1 in the first half.

The Eagles continued to push for a winner late in the match, forcing two corner kicks in the second half, but both teams' defenses held firm to close out the stalemate.
