HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Saint Elizabeth University women's volleyball team competed in a tri-match on Saturday, October 25, at Centenary University's John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center, facing the host Centenary (NJ) Cyclones and the Goucher Gophers.
In the opening match, the Eagles fell in straight sets to Centenary, 25–19, 25–22, 25–10, in Atlantic East Conference play. Junior Dadlyna Louis paced the SEU offense with 11 kills on an efficient .529 hitting percentage, adding a service ace for 12 total points. Sienna Volpe chipped in six points behind four kills and two service aces, while Marissa Heimbaugh contributed seven digs and a pair of aces. Setter Victoria Compton tallied 10 assists, and Alyssa Wells led the defense with eight digs.
In the second match of the day, the Eagles took Goucher College to a five-set thriller before narrowly falling 19–25, 25–21, 25–27, 25–20, 15–10. SEU started strong with a first-set win and continued to battle throughout a tightly contested match that featured several long rallies and momentum shifts.
Sienna Volpe led the attack with a match-high 16 kills, three service aces, and 17 digs for a double-double performance. Marissa Heimbaugh added 13 kills, six aces, and 23 digs in one of her best all-around outings of the season. Dadlyna Louis remained a force at the net with 12 kills and a .524 hitting percentage, while Victoria Compton dished out 23 assists, and Ericka Menaling Trajano recorded 12 assists and two aces.
Defensively, SEU combined for 76 digs and four total blocks, showing grit and resilience through five competitive sets.
