JAMAICA, N.Y. – The Saint Elizabeth University women's volleyball team put on a commanding performance Thursday night, sweeping York College (NY) 3–0 (25–13, 25–9, 25–8) on the road at the York College Gymnasium.
The Eagles' offense was in peak form, hitting an impressive .444 as a team while limiting York to a negative hitting percentage. Saint Elizabeth fired off 31 kills and a season-high 25 service aces in just under an hour of play.
Leading the way for SEU was Marissa Jean Baptiste, who posted a nearly flawless performance with 10 kills on 11 attempts for a .909 hitting percentage. Dadlyna Louis added 7 kills and 5 aces, while Sienna Volpe chipped in 5 kills and a team-leading 7 service aces.
Setters Victoria Compton and Ericka Menaling Trajano kept the attack balanced, combining for 27 assists and 11 service aces. Defensively, Alyssa Wells anchored the back row with 8 digs, while the team limited York to just 9 kills across three sets.
Saint Elizabeth never trailed in any of the three sets, using dominant serving runs from Louis, Volpe, and Menaling Trajano to seize early control. The Eagles closed each set with strong finishing stretches, including a 10–2 run to end the match.
