MORRISTOWN, N.J. – October 16, 2025 – The Saint Elizabeth University women's volleyball team delivered an inspired effort on Thursday night inside St. Joseph's Hall, pushing Brooklyn College to the brink in a thrilling five-set match before falling just short, 3–2 (13–25, 25–22, 15–25, 25–21, 15–13).
The Eagles (6–13, 1–2 Atlantic East) started fast, dominating the opening set with aggressive serving and efficient offense. After dropping the second, SEU responded with another strong showing in the third to regain the lead. Brooklyn (10–10, 3–1 CUNYAC) rallied late to take the final two sets and claim the non-conference victory.
HEIMBAUGH SHINES ON BOTH ENDS
Junior Marissa Heimbaugh (15 kills, .394 hitting percentage, 16 digs, 3 service aces) continued her standout season with an all-around performance that led all players with 18.0 points. Dadlyna Louis added 10 kills and a pair of blocks, while Sienna Volpe and Mia Gonzales each contributed six kills. Sophie Galchus provided five kills and two blocks at the net to round out the attack.
SETTING DUO KEEPS OFFENSE IN RHYTHM
The Eagles' offense was paced by the setting tandem of Victoria Compton (21 assists, 9 digs, 2 aces) and Ericka Menaling Trajano (17 assists, 4 digs, 2 aces). Alyssa Wells anchored the defense with a match-high 18 digs and added three service aces, helping SEU stay aggressive from the back row.

Saint Elizabeth posted 51 kills, 12 aces, and a .190 team hitting percentage, while also recording 62 digs and eight total blocks. The match featured 23 ties and 14 lead changes, reflecting the intensity and competitive balance between the two sides.
