Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth Men's Soccer team pulled off a come from behind victory in a high scoring match vs. Notre Dame of Maryland, winning by a final of 6-4.
Following the win the Eagles move to an overall record of 5-4-0, with a 2-0-0 record in conference play. The Gators will fall to 2-7-0 on the season, while dropping to 1-2-0 in conference play.
The Eagles would strike fast and early as
Sebastian Londono would strike with under five minutes played in the game, with an assist coming from teammate
Marvin Miranda. The Gators, would answer back scoring three unanswered goals in the spam of ten minutes to take a 3-1 lead nearing the back third of the first half. Londono would bring the Eagles, closer with a penalty kick goal to make the score 3-2, with just over 29 minutes played in the game.
Massimo Rondon would then score two minutes later in the 31st minute as the game would go tied at three all
Franco Arteaga would pick up the assist. With under 10 minutes to go in the half, Londono would secure a hat trick, and score the Eagles fourth goal of the half, to pull ahead of the Gators, making the score 4-3 heading into the break, Miranda would pick up the assist on Londono's goal once again. The Gators would waste no time scoring on the Eagles early in the second half, to pull back even at four all. The Eagles would go on to score two unanswered goals, one coming off of a penalty kick from
Ethan Mosquera, giving the Eagles a 5-4 advantage, and the second goal coming from
Franco Arteaga, in the 82nd minute with an assist coming from
Conor Morrin.
Andrew Gonzalez got the start for the Eagles, going the full 90 minutes and making five saves along the way.
