The Saint Elizabeth University Men;s Basketball team hosted Pratt Institute on Monday night for its final non-conference contest of the season. Last year, the Cannoneers defeated the Eagles 82-75 in Brooklyn, NY. This year, the Eagles would get their revenge. With a fast-paced scoring attack, the Eagles were able to build a 13-point lead going into halftime. In the second half, the lead would grow to as much as 28 points. The Eagles improve to 12-9 on the season while the Cannoneers drop to 7-12.
A total of 11 different Eagles scored tonight in a balanced offensive effort.
Malamin Kaba led the Eagles in scoring with 17 points off the bench including 3 three point field goals.
Tye-Rell Monroe, who was honored during the pre-game for surpassing 1000 career points last Thursday, registered 13 points and 4 rebounds.
Jonathan Ramos contributed 12 points including a buzzer-beating three point shot to end the first half.
Tyrese Conover finished with 11 points.
D'Angelo Blackmond led the Eagles on the backboards with 9 rebounds and
Nate Thompson was excellent defensively with 5 steals.
The Eagles will travel on the road on Wednesday to take on the Patriots of the University of Valley Forge. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm at The Pit in Phoenixville, PA.
