The Saint Elizabeth Women's Basketball team started off slowly but was able to rally back in a Tuesday night matchup with Cairn University. The Eagles trailed after one quarter but were able to bounce back and led 27-22 at halftime. In the second half the Eagles found their groove and were able to pull away late in the fourth quarter to secure their 6th consecutive win. The Eagles remain in 2nd place in the United East Skye Division with a record of 9-1 in conference play. With the loss, the Highlanders drop to 5-5 in conference play.
Destiny Battle was terrific on both sides of the floor registering 20 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists.
Aryanna Baytops recorded 6 points and 23 rebounds on the night.
Yasminah White finished with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.
The Eagles will have a big test coming up on Saturday as they travel to Baltimore, MD to take on the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland University. Saint Elizabeth University's only conference loss this season came at the hands of the Gators. Tip-off is scheduled for 1pm.
