The Saint Elizabeth University men's basketball team entered into a heated contest Saturday with Bryn Athyn College to decide who would take first place in the United East Skye Division. There were 11 lead changes in the game and both teams proved that they will be a tough opponent for any team in the United East. The Eagles drop to 2-1 in the conference while the Lions improve to 3-0 in conference play.
Pierre Harden was efficient from the floor scoring 22 points on 10 of 13 shooting. He also filled that stat sheet in other ways with 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks.
Tye-Rell Monroe was a big spark for the Eagles scoring several baskets in transition for a total of 19 points.
D'Angelo Blackmond contributed 11 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks.Â
The Eagles will look to return to their winning ways in a non-conference game on Wednesday December 13 against Sarah Lawrence College. Last season, the Eagles defeated the Gryphons on a game-winning three pointer in overtime made by
Jonathan Ramos. Tip off is scheduled for 7pm.
