The Saint Elizabeth Women's Basketball team opened it's 2023-24 season tonight in front of a school record attendance of 435. The Eagles would face their cross-town rival FDU-Florham in the Battle of Park Avenue. 


Reigning CSAC Defensive Player of the Year Destiny Battle was involved early in the action and finished with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Junior Yasminah White recorded a double double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ahjionae Cobb bolstered the scoring effort with a career-high 10 points. Freshman Mya Davis made a splash in her Eagles debut knocking down 3 three pointers. Aryanna Baytops led the Eagles on the boards with a career-high 20 rebounds. Rebounding was a major factor in the game as the Eagles outrebounded the Devils by 21. The Eagles also scored 21 second chance points.


The win marks the 5th time in school history that the Eagles have defeated the Devils. Their next contest will be on the road as they take on Lehman College at 1pm on Saturday November 11.
