Flemington, N.J. – The Saint Elizabeth University baseball team registered its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory on Friday in its first season playing conference games, as the Eagles defeated Cairn 19-12 in the second game of a doubleheader on an extremely blustery afternoon at Diamond Nation. Cairn took game one, 16-9.
Game 1
The Eagles (1-3, 1-3 CSAC) scored seven runs over the final two innings, but allowed a 10-spot to visiting Cairn (4-4, 1-1 CSAC) in the fifth inning.
Junior first baseman
Drew Zimmerman (Sayerville, N.J. / Sayreville War Memorial) went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, a double and a walk. Sophomore shortstop
Justin Otero (New Rochelle, N.Y. / Slesian) finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run, two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk.
Game 2
Saint Elizabeth exploded for its highest-scoring output in its 16-game program history with 19 runs. It set program records with four home runs, five doubles, two triples, and 11 extra-base hits.
In an absolutely wild first half of the game, the Eagles scored four runs in the first, one in the second, two in the third and 10 in the fourth to take a 17-9 lead after the fourth frame. Next, sophomore pitcher
Gabe Antommarchi (Rivervale, N.J. / Pasckack Valley) struck out five and allowed just two runs over the final three innings to secure the victory.

Angelo Marabello (Saddle Brook, N.J. / St. Mary's),
Josh Koller (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Spackenhill),
Tim Quercia (Monroe Twp, N.J. / Monroe Twp) and Otero.
Marabello finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a program-record six RBIs. Koller was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, three runs scored and a walk, while Otero was 2-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
