Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Saint Elizabeth Upended at Cairn, 92-77

Langhorne, Pa. – A total of four different Eagles scored in double figures, but the College of Saint Elizabeth men's basketball team could not keep pace with hot-shooting Cairn, and fell 92-77 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday night.

The Eagles (11-9, 5-5 CSAC) shot 41.9 percent (31-for-74) from the field, but Cairn (13-8, 8-2 CSAC) was 55.8 percent (29-for-52) overall, and an incredible 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from three-point range. Saint Elizabeth held significant advantages in points off turnovers, points in the paint, second-chance points, and bench scoring. However, the Highlanders had nearly twice the amount of free-throw opportunities, and used efficient shooting to pull away down the stretch.

Senior guard Jason Saldiveri (New Brunswick, N.J./South Brunswick) finished with a team-high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting with three assists and three steals. Junior Darnill Brown (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown) totaled 13 points, three rebounds and three steals in 20 minutes off the bench. Senior forward Shaquan Mickens (Newark, N.J./University) was 6-of-10 from the field for 12 points, while sophomore Jarek Johnson (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Twp) added 11 points and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, the Eagles will travel to Bryn Athyn for a 3 p.m. tip on Saturday, Feb. 8.
