Jersey City, N.J. – The College of Saint Elizabeth won the opening set in its 2019 season opener on Friday evening, but ultimately fell 3-1 at NJCU. Set scores were 16-25, 25-10, 28-26, 27-25.
Yasmin'Na Muhammad and Stephanie Mitarontonda led the Eagles with 10 kills each, while Muhammad added four service aces and eight digs. Mitarontonda also had 14 digs and hit .241. Junior
Maura Farley filled the box score with seven kills, 12 assists, eight digs and three blocks.
Looking ahead, the Ealges return to the court on Friday, Sep. 6 at 7 p.m. at home against St. Joseph's Brooklyn. On Saturday, Sep. 7 Saint Elizabeth will travel to Medgar Evers for an 11 a.m. match.
