MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's volleyball team (3-8, 0-5 NEAC) defeated Lehman College for its fourth win of the season, 3-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24) on Friday evening.
In the first set, after falling behind 6-2, the Eagles ran off 15 of the next 19 points to open up a 17-10 advantage. Despite the Lightening battling back to get within one late in the set, the Eagles won the final three points to take the first set, 25-21.
With the second set tied at 10, the Eagles ran off the next three points to take a 13-10 lead. Leading 17-16, the Lightening took the final eight points to take set two, 25-16.
After more back and forth action in set three, the Eagles used a 4-0 run to take a 13-9 lead, its largest of the set. The Eagles continued to up the lead as it took an 18-12 advantage, leading to a Lehman timeout. Despite the Lightening cutting the gap to two, the Eagles won the final point and took the set, 25-22.
CSE continued the momentum into the fourth set as it used a 6-1 run to open a 14-8 lead. Lehman fought back later in the set, scoring five straight points to tie the match at 17. Trailing 21-18, the Eagles took the next three points to tie the set at 21. With the set squared at 24, the Eagles took the final two points to win the set, 26-24 and take the match, 3-1.
CJ Koskulitz led the Eagles with 18 digs, 10 kills and six service aces.
Frank Rossi Jr. added 23 assists, nine digs and six service aces while
Justin Millan finished with 10 kills and 10 digs.
CSE returns to action next Friday when it hosts SUNY Poly at 7 pm.
