Kamille Jacobs (Hillside, N.J./Roselle Catholic) scored 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds, but the College of Saint Elizabeth women's basketball team could not keep pace with visiting RPI on Saturday afternoon and fell 87-60.
Jacobs shot 6-for-11 from the field and 2-for-2 from the three-point line to secure her second 20-point game of the season. Junior forward
Kamani Williams (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) finished with 10 points and eight rebounds while shooting 5-for-8 from the floor. Freshman forward
Aryanna Baytops (Newark, N.J./Newark Tech) also contributed career-highs of seven points and 11 boards.
The Eagles (1-2) trailed 23-17 at the end of the first quarter, but the Engineers (2-1) used a strong second quarter to take 46-29 lead into the break. During the second half, each team traded blows, but Saint Elizabeth was unable to cut into the lead.
Looking ahead, the Eagles host Cheyney in a non-conference game on Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
