CHAMBERSBURG, P.A. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (15-11, 9-3 NEAC) dropped a pair of conference matches at Wilson College, 9-0 and 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
In game one, the Eagles had two early hits in the first inning but were unable to score. Â Wilson got on the board in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs to take a 3-0 lead. Â The Phoenix added four runs in the third and two in the fourth inning. Â The Eagles managed just two additional hits over the next four innings before dropping the game, 9-0.
Following a first inning run for Wilson in game two,
Marie Goodman lined a RBI single to center, scoring
Neckolette Nedwell to tie the score at one in the top of the second. Â After a scoreless third inning, the Phoenix regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth, scoring a run to take a 2-1 lead. Â Wilson added two more runs in the fifth and the Eagles were unable to close the gap, dropping the game by three.
The Eagles scattered seven hits in game two with Nedwell and
Rachael Romer each reaching base twice.
CSE returns to action for senior day and its regular season finale on Sunday when it hosts Penn State Berks at 12 pm.
