CHAMBERSBURG, P.A. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (15-12, 9-3 NEAC) fell in the first round of the NEAC playoffs, 6-0 to Wilson College on Thursday afternoon.
In the top of the first inning, the Eagles put the first three batters on to load the bases with no outs, however, Megan Potter stuck out the next three batters to keep the game scoreless. In the bottom of the inning, Wilson plated two runs to take a 2-0 lead.
CSE had a hit in each of the next three innings but would strand the runner each time. The Phoenix scored a run in the third and three more in the fourth to open up a 6-0 lead. The Eagles failed to score in the final two innings as Wilson College earned the 6-0 victory.
The Eagles finished with six hits as a team.
Teya Carr had a two-hit game while
Alyssa Hampton gave up three earned runs over four innings.
Marielis Alicea pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
The 15 wins are the second most in program history and this was the first playoff game for the softball program since joining the NEAC.
