LANCASTER, P.A. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (3-2, 2-0 NEAC) defeated Lancaster Bible for its second straight conference win, 57-49 on Saturday afternoon.
Deja Ingram finished with her best all-around performance of the season, tallying 16 points, 19 rebounds, seven blocks and two steals. Â
Rakiyah Sellers added 12 points including three, three-pointers off the bench while
Damaris King added a season high nine points.
After trailing 16-15 at the end of the first quarter, the Eagles used a 5-0 run with 5:06 remaining in the half to take a 24-23 lead, its first since the first quarter. Â CSE managed to play even in the rest of the quarter to take a 27-26 lead into halftime.
The Eagles scored the first six points of the third quarter to take a 33-26 lead, its biggest of the contest. Â The Chargers would slice the Eagles deficit to two, however the Eagles would run the lead to nine before taking a six point advantage into the final period.
CSE continued its strong defense in the fourth quarter, not allowing the Chargers to get closer than four. Â CSE would score the final four points, en route to a 57-49 victory.
CSE returns to action on December 10 when it travels to NJCU for a 7 pm tip.
