MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Four Players scored in double figures, however, it was not enough as the College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (4-10, 1-5 NEAC) fell to Morrisville State, 86-63 on Sunday afternoon.
Deja Ingram finished with a team high 15 points while Kamile Jacobs and
Rakiyah Sellers each chipped in with 14 points. Nakiah Lane added a career high 10 points and three rebounds.
The Eagles started strong in the first quarter, going on a 6-0 run to take a 14-5 lead. The Mustangs closed out the final minutes strong, going on a 7-0 run to take a 21-18 lead into the second quarter. CSE cut the deficit to two in the second period, but Morrisville took control toward the end of the quarter, taking a 40-29 lead into halftime.
CSE continued to fight in the third quarter, slicing a a 12 point deficit to five with 4:32 remaining. The Mustangs used an 8-2 to regain a double-digit lead and take a 61-46 lead into the final quarter. The Mustangs outscored the Eagles 25-17 in the final quarter to take the contest 86-63.
CSE returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Penn State Berks at 8 pm.
