MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (3-10, 0-6 NEAC) dropped a conference game to Morrisville State College, 95-68 on Sunday afternoon.
Jason Saldiveri led the way for the Eagles, finishing with 11 points and four rebounds.Â
Cam Tucker and
Roland Romano each added eight points while
Kar'ron Johnson finished with seven points and two assists.
The first half saw fast paced action as both teams combined for 15 points in the first 2:30 minutes. With the Eagles trailing 11-6 four minutes in, Saldiveri scored five straight points to square the game at 11. Over the next three minutes, the mustangs outscored CSE 10-2 to take its largest lead of the game at 21-13. The Eagles managed to get back within one, but the mustangs controlled the final 10 minutes of the first half, taking a 46-27 lead into halftime.
CSE stormed out of the gate to start the second half, scoring the first eight points to trim the deficit to 49-35. Over the next five minutes, the Mustangs upped the lead back up to 20. The Eagles continued to battle throughout the final 12 minutes, but could not mount a comeback, dropping the contest, 95-68.
The Eagles return to action on Wednesday when it hosts Penn State Berks at 6 pm.
