Eagles Power Past Wildcats to Stop Skid

Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (13-8, 11-6) end its three-game losing streak by dominating Penn College, 68-55 on Saturday afternoon.

Damaris King led the Eagles with a season high 16 points and four rebounds while Deja Ingram added nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Eagles stormed out of the gate early in the first quarter, going on a 14-0 to open the game. After Penn College scored its first bucket at the 5:46 mark, the Eagles scored the next six points to open up an 18 point lead. King finished the first quarter with ten points as the Eagles took a 26-10 lead into the second quarter.

Penn College opened the second quarter on a 9-0 run to cut the Eagles lead to 26-19. CSE would bare down on defense over the next seven minutes, holding the Wildcats to just three points as CSE took a 36-22 lead into halftime.

After the Wildcats outscored the Eagles 15-14 in the third quarter, CSE regained a 13 point lead with 8:38 to go in regulation. Penn College would get to within nine midway through the final period but CSE would not let them get any closer, taking the contest by 13.

CSE returns to action on February 11 when it hosts Morrisville State at 1 pm.
