Women's Basketball Clipped by Chargers, 57-50

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (2-6, 0-4 NEAC) was edged in a conference matchup to Lancaster Bible, 57-50 on Saturday afternoon.

Kamille Jacobs led the Eagles with 12 points and five rebounds.  Rakiyah Sellers chipped in with 12 points and give steals while Deja Ingram added seven points, 15 rebounds, and six blocks.

The Eagles started strong in the first quarter, going on a 6-0 run to take a 10-6 lead.  Later in the quarter, Dianne Nieves swished a corner three-pointer to give the Eagles a one-point lead heading into the second quarter.  Despite leading by four with 3:42 remaining in the second quarter, the Chargers ended on a 10-0 run to take a 31-25 lead into halftime.

CSE flew out of the gate in the third quarter, scoring the first nine points to regain a 34-31 lead.  Lancaster battled right back over the next four minutes, taking a five-point lead with two minutes remaining.  CSE would score four of the final six points, however, the Chargers took a 45-41 lead into the final quarter.

The Chargers took control to open the fourth quarter, going on a 10-1 run to take a 55-42 lead.  The Eagles would fight back to get within seven, but could not get any closer, dropping the game, 57-50. 

CSE returns to action on December 19 when it hosts Wesley College at 1 pm.
