MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (2-6, 0-4 NEAC) put a valiant effort up against NEAC leading Lancaster Bible, but fell short, 75-66 on Saturday afternoon.
Cam Tucker led the way, finishing with 15 points and six rebounds.Â
Roland Romano notched his fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds while
Jason Saldiveri added 10 points.Â
CSE started string out of the gate as
Tino Gonzalez buried a corner three-pointer to give the Eagles a 13-7 lead. The Eagles continued to up the lead as
Devon Tuten connected for his first three-pointer of the game, upping the lead to 23-14. The Chargers battled back over the next three minutes, going on a 9-1 lead to slice the deficit to one. The Eagles closed out the first half on a positive note, scoring five of the final six points to take a 29-25 lead into the break.
The Eagles led 39-33 with 15:41 remaining before the Chargers went on a 7-0 run to take a 40-39 lead. The game went back and forth over the next five minutes before
Roland Romano scored back to back buckets to tie the score at 50. The Chargers led 59-57 before going on a 11-1 with 2:55 remaining to open up an 11 point lead. CSE could not manage a late run over the final three minutes, dropping the contest by nine.
CSE returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Drew University at 12 pm.
