Men's Basketball Bested by Drew

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (2-7, 0-4 NEAC) fell to crosstown foe Drew University, 94-80 on Sunday afternoon.

Cam Tucker led the Eagles with 20 points, including five three-pointers.  Tino Gonzlez and Ty'ier Grier each had 11 points while Michael Manso chipped in with eight points on 4-5 shooting.

The Rangers from Drew started hot from the floor, hitting its first three, three-pointers to take an 11-2 lead three minutes into the game.  The Eagles knocked down three, three-pointers of its own in the half, and cut the deficit to seven with 8:31 remaining in the half.  The Rangers pushed the lead to as much as 15 in the closing minutes, taking a 47-33 lead into halftime. 

After the Eagles cut the deficit to nine to start the second half, the Rangers ran off an 18-6 run to open up its largest lead of the game at 22.  CSE would not go away quietly over the next six minutes, going on a 14-4 run to get right back within eight with 4:06 remaining in regulation.  Over the remaining four minutes, the Eagles could not cut anymore into the deficit, before dropping the game by 14.

CSE returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Kean University for a 1 pm tip.
