Men's Basketball Falls at Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, P.A. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (2-5, 0-3 NEAC) fell to Bryn Athyn College ina  conference matchup, 78-68 on Wednesday evening.

Roland Romano led the way fo the Eagles, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Cam Tucker chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds and Jason Saldiveri had nine points and a season high 13 rebounds.

After taking its first lead of the game at 7-6, the Eagles fell behind 14-7 behind an 8-0 by the Lions.  The Lions would push the lead to as much as eight, however the Eagles would not back down, trimming the lead to three with four minutes remaining in the half.  CSE closed out the first half on a 7-2 run to square the score at 30 heading into halftime.

To open the second half, Saldiveri scored the open bucket to give CSE its first lead since the 15:17 mark of the first half.  The Eagles could not hold the lead for long as the Lions went on a 9-2 run to take a 45-39 lead with 12:21 remaining in regulation.  CSE came right back over the next three minutes as Devon Tuten made a driving layup to put the Eagles back on top, 51-50.  After reclaiming the lead, the Lions went on a 7-0 run to open up an eight point lead with four minutes remaining.  The Eagles were unable to get any closer than five over the final four minutes, as the Lions took the contest, 78-68

CSE returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Lancaster Bible College at 12 pm.
