MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (2-4, 0-2 NEAC) fell to the Bison of Gallaudet in a home conference matchup, 95-88 on Saturday afternoon.
Cam Tucker finished with a career high 24 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals.Â
Jason Saldiveri added 20 points and nine rebounds while
Roland Romano had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Both teams traded buckets early on before the Bison used a 9-0 eight minutes in to take a 22-15 lead. Despite facing its largest deficit of the game, the Eagles stormed back, scoring ten of the next 13 points to tie the score at 25. Three minutes later, Tucker burried a three-pointer from the corner to give the Eagles its largest lead of the game at 32-28. Tucker would add two-more three pointers over the next two minutes to give the Eagles a 45-39 lead. CSE closed out the half by scoring the final four points to take a 50-43 lead into the break.
As the second half got underway, the Eagles scored six of the first eight points to open up its first double-digit lead of the game at 56-45. CSE pushed the lead up to 13 before the Bison started chipping away, cutting the lead to four at the 9:32 mark. Gallaudet continued its push, taking its first lead of the second half, 81-80 with 5:07 remaining in regulation. CSE continued to battle, tying the score at 82 before the Bison regained a four-point lead with 2:30 minutes to go. CSE could only cut the deficit to within two, before dropping the contest seven.Â
