MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (1-2, 0-0 NEAC) fell in its home opener to Lehman College, 66-55 on Monday evening.
Deja Ingram finished with her first double-double of the season, adding 13 points and 12 rebounds. Kamille Jobs added nine points and eight rebounds while
Damaris King chipped in with nine points.
After the Eagles led 6-4 early in the first quarter, the Lightening from Lehman went on a 8-0 run to take a 12-6 lead. The Lightning would up the lead to eight to close out the quarter. Lehman took as big a lead as 18 in the second quarter before the Eagles rallied to score six of the final eight points as Lehman lead 31-18 at half.
Trailing 37-24 with 6:57 remaining in the third quarter, the Eagles came alive, scoring 17 of the next 20 points to tie the score at 40. After Lehman took a two point lead into the final quarter, Dianne Nieves buried a three pointer to open the period and give the Eagles its first lead since the first quarter. Despite taking the lead, the Lightening went on a the next nine points to take a 51-43 led. CSE could not manage to cut the deficit to less than five before dropping the game, 66-55.
CSE returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Penn State Abington for an 8 pm tip off.
