PURCHASE, N.Y. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (1-1, 0-0 NEAC) suffered its first defeat of the season at the hands of Manhattanville College, 87-39 on Monday evening.
Despite an even first quarter, the Valients used an 9-0 run to end the period to take a 22-14 lead. The second quarter was dominated by Manhattanville, outscoring the Eagles 25-7 to take a 46-21 halftime lead. The Eagles continued to fight in both the third and fourth quarters, but were unable to make a run to cut into the deficit.
Deja Ingram led the Eagles with 14 points and five rebounds. Kamani Williams,
Damaris King, and Kamille Jacobs each pitched in with six points a piece.
CSE returns to action on Monday for its home opener against Lehman College at 6 pm.
