Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's volleyball team (6-14, 1-4 NEAC) fell to NJCU on senior night, 3-0 (21-25, 23-25, 24-26) on Thursday evening.
Yasmin'na Muhammad paced the Eagles with seven digs, six kills, and three blocks.
Maura Farley added 11 assists and three service aces whileÂ
Stephanie Mitarotonda finished with six kills and three service aces.
All three sets were tightly contested as the Eagles dropped the first set by four. In the second set, CSE controlled much of the match, leading by as much as six late in the set, but NJCU used a 10-2 run to take the set, 25-23.
The final set went back and forth throughout, as the Eagles won four straight points to take a 16-14 lead. Both teams battled over the next 18 points as NJCUÂ used a two-point advantage to tie the match at 24. The Gothic Knights managed to win the final two points and take the set, 26-24.
Before the match,
Rhonyelle Sowell was presented with a framed picture as part of senior night. Summary Solis was also recognized for being a team manger for the past two seasons.
CSE returns to action on Saturday when it hosts an NEAC crossover weekend, beginning at 11 am.
