Eagles Dominate Wildcats for NEAC Sweep

Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's volleyball team (8-14, 3-4 NEAC) swept a pair of conference matches on a NEAC crossover weekend, defeating Penn College and Cazenovia College, 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In the first match of the morning against Penn College, the Eagles dominated, defeating the Wildcats, 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-21). Stephanie Mitarotonda led the way for the Eagles in the match, finishing with 11 kills, seven digs, and two service aces. Jessica Garreffa finished with 18 digs, seven assists, and five service aces while Maura Farley added a game high 18 assists, 13 digs, three service aces, and two blocks.

In the second match against Cazenovia College, the Eagles stormed past the Wildcats, 3-0 (25-11, 28-26, 25-16). Farley paced the Eagles with 18 assists, seven digs, six kills, and two service aces. Garreffa added 14 digs and two assists while Yasmin'na Muhammad had a game high 12 kills.

With the two wins, the Eagles improve to 3-4 in the confeence, and keep its playoff hopes alive with two NEAC matches remaining against Wilson College and Penn State Berks.

In the other two matches, Penn College defeated Bryn Athyn 3-0, before Cazenovia College downed Bryn Athyn, 3-0 in the final match of the day.

CSE returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Wilson College for a 1 pm start.
