Washington, D.C. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (6-4, 4-1 NEAC) defeated Gallaudet University, 56-45 for its second straight win on Sunday afternoon.
Danesha Triplett paced the Eagles inside, finishing with 13 points on 6-9 from the field and nine rebounds.
Deja Ingram added her second straight double-double, ending the game with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
After falling behind 16-15 after the first quarter, the Eagles scored teh first four points of the second period to take a three-point lead. After the Bison cut the lead to one, the Eagles went on a 6-0 run to take a 25-18 lead with 4:55 remaining until halftime. CSE continued its strong defense in the half, forcing nine first half turnovers as the Eagles took a 29-23 lead into the break.
Two minutes into the third quarter, Ingram made a driving layup to give the Eagles its first double-digit lead of the game. Despite the Bison following with  a 6-0 run, the Eagles ended the quarter on a 8-2 run to take a 43-33 lead into the final ten minutes of play.
CSE continued to lock down on defense in the fourth quarter, forcing three turnovers in the first five minute and going on an 8-2 run to take a 51-35 lead. The Eagles would not allow the Bison to get back within single-digits, taking the contest by 11.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 4-1 in the NEAC. CSE returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Penn State Berks for a 6 pm tip.
