Reading, Pa. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (7-4, 5-1 NEAC) powered past Penn State Berks, 70-48 on Tuesday evening.
Jasmine Poole led the Eagles with 20 points on 7-12 from the floor, six assists, six rebounds and three steals.
Deja Ingram added 15 points and six rebounds while
Danesha Triplett chipped in with 14 points.
Fresh off a NEAC sweep over the weekend, the Eagles flew out of the gate, scoring the first 13 points of the game. CSE's defense wrecked havoc in the quarter, forcing eight turnovers and allowing just eight points as the Eagles took a 23-8 lead into the second period.
With 7:40 remaining in the second quarter, Poole banged home a three-pointer to open up a 21 point lead for the Eagles. After Berks got within 18, the Eagles scored the last four points of the quarter to take a 41-19 lead into halftime.
After both teams scored just a combined 16 points in the third quarter, the Eagles opened the fourth quarter on a 8-0 run to take open up a 24 point lead. CSE would up the lead to as much as 35 before taking the contest, 70-48.
CSE improves to 5-1 in the NEAC and held an opponent under 50 points for the third time this season. The Eagles return to action on Thursday when it hosts Lancaster Bible at 6 pm.
