Eagles Stumble at Lancaster, 67-57

Lancaster, Pa. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (12-8, 10-5 NEAC) dropped its third straight conference game at Lancaster Bible, 67-57 on Tuesday evening.

Jasmine Poole paced the Eagles with 20 points and eight rebounds while Rakiyah Sellers added 12 points, including three three-pointers. Courtney Goyak finished with 25 points and 32 rebounds for the Chargers.

The Eagles offense struggled in the first quarter, scoring just six points in the first ten minutes. After falling behind 22-8 in the second quarter, the Eagles used a 5-0 run to get back within single-digits. Lancaster controlled the rest of the second quarter, taking a 37-21 lead into halftime.

CSE came out strong in the second half, scoring 14 of the first 17 points to get within seven with two minutes remaining in the quarter. CSE held the Chargers to just  eight points in the quarter as the Eagles clawed its way to within 46-38 heading into the final ten minutes of play.

Despite the Eagles getting to within six early in the fourth quarter, Lancaster ran its lead to 16 with five minutes remaining. CSE could not manage to get back within single-digits, dropping the contest by ten.

CSE looks to get back in the win column on Saturday when it hosts Penn College at 12 pm.
